Inchone joins Hewlett Packard in a consortium to develop the i-Connect Learning Space ("i-CLS") for FutureSchools@Singapore call-for-collaboration. The collaboration programme is driven by the Ministry of Education and Infocomm Development Authority in conjunction with other industry partners. The programme aspires to establish another milestone of excellence in Singapore education landscape by leveraging on information technology and innovative learning approaches to create a brand new and even more engaging learning environment. As a member of the consortium led by Hewlett Packard, Inchone will be working closely with Crescent Girls’ School in the development of i-CLS. The students of Crescent Girls’ School are promised of many exciting and enriching learning experiences ahead of them as they will be the first to experiment and experience the brand new and engaging learning environment i-CLS brings throughout the 4-year development window. They will also be the first to reap the benefits of i-CLS when the system is expected to be completed by 2012.
Besides standard features like classroom management, student portfolio management, learning management. assessment platform, learning tools, i-CLS incorporates cutting edge learning object repository, which includes an interactive digital media library with built-in meta-tagging capability that allows easy searching. i-CLS also allows reusable learning objects to be deposited and accessed for content authoring and supports contents and resources that are in the various formats such as visual, audio or kinetic. Competency Wheel - made up of soft skill, skill set and co-curriculum activities where the student will be evaluated on each of their core subject and soft skill or skill set-through analysis like Gap Analysis, Interview and Expert Panel.
Learning Pathway - matches online and classroom courses that linked to each competency to the student based on evaluation generated by Competency Wheel.
i-CLS, thus, will allow each student to map his very own personalized skill set requirements, seeking to maximize his or her full potentials.
